Note that the same amount of air is present in the cylinder. It’s the diesel fuel that varies to determine engine speed. Whatever air that does not get burned in the combustion process is simply pushed out on the exhaust stroke. This is where the Superchips DPI system comes in to play.
Each Superchips DPI kit is mapped at the factory for its specific application. Superchips uses our own Pro-Data+ software to control and monitor the DPI system. This software is easy to use on a Windows based PC and allows you to adjust the amount of performance you want to achieve, as well as program certain parameters as to when the propane is injected (such as the boost pressure). Another useful tool is the ability to data-log system performance to aid in tuning the system or troubleshooting. You can even download the software .

Tuners and Modifications
A popular upgrade to turbo-diesel trucks is an aftermarket chip or tuner. The Superchips DPI system will work hand-in-hand with our Max MicroTuner or FLASHPAQ to produce even greater results. Adding propane to a vehicle with a tuner installed will still produce power gains, however the additional improvements will be less than on a stock vehicle. This is because the modified program is already using more of the available air in the cylinder. The end result will still be greater, but it will not be the sum of the individual components.

Superchip’s all new Digital Propane Injection system is the safest propane system available. That’s because Superchips uses a closed loop ECM that constantly monitors the engine parameters, such as propane vapor temperature, over-boost and of course rpm, before any propane is allowed to be added to the engine. If the engine management parameters are not met, no propane is used. Or, if you simply do not want to use the system at certain points, it can be disabled with the flip of a switch. This system also has the capabilities to data-log a number of engine parameters. It uses our Pro-Data Plus software to adjust parameters.
Each DPI™ system is programmed for each application so there are no jets to drill or external adjustments required. Supplied with mounting brackets and installation instructions.
Note: The propane tank must be purchased separately. The tank and installation must meet Federal DOT and NFPA 58 requirements as well as state and local requirements that may apply. Information is available from your local propane professional.

When you’re towing a heavy load the new Superchips DPI™ system will give you the extra oomph to get up and over the toughest grades. Not only will the power be increased but you’ll be able to run further between fuel stops!
Superchips’s all new Digital Propane Injection system is the safest propane injection system available. That’s
because we use an advanced closed loop ECM that constantly monitors the engine parameters, such as throttle
position, over-boost conditions, engine rpm and propane temperature before any propane is allowed to be added to
the engine. The temperature of the propane is very important. If the propane is below 0°F the system will not turn on.
This prevents liquid propane from being injected which could cause over fueling and engine damage. This is a very
important safety feature in cold climates. If the engine management parameters are not met, no propane is used. Or, if you simply do not want to use the system at certain points, it can be disabled with the flip of a switch.
Another important feature is data-logging capabilities. If you need assistance in troubleshooting the system, the
ECU can record up to 30 minutes of information. This data can then be reviewed and analyzed.
Each DPI system is programmed for individual applications so there are no jets to drill or external adjustments
required. Once the kit is installed, you will always have the correct performance gains from your truck in the safest,
most efficient manner possible.
SAFETY FEATURES:
Progressive fuel cutoff based on engine rpm to prevent engine over rev.
The propane temperature is constantly monitored to ensure that the propane is always in a vapor state
when it’s injected. This prevents over fueling and engine damage.
Fuel flow is also corrected for temperature. By monitoring fuel temps we can maintain a consistent fuel
curve during various loads and coolant temperatures.
Fuel flow is not determined by airflow, therefore a restricted air filter will not result in over-fueling.
The ECU has a map of propane versus manifold pressure and throttle position. If certain parameters are
out of specification, the system will not be activated.
Being able to data-log system performance provides an important and useful tool in vehicle performance.
